Thanks to our partnership with the Minnesota DNR, families across Mahtomedi recently came together to discover the fun of fishing.
Family Fishing Nights are a new event hosted by Mahtomedi Community Education in partnership with the DNR’s Fishing in the Neighborhood Program. The program works with local governments and community education programs to expand access to Minnesota’s lakes and promote fishing for all ages. By teaching both kids and adults side by side, these sessions create shared memories and strengthen community bonds.
The most recent event took place at Lost Lake in Mahtomedi. During these sessions, families received hands-on instruction, all the equipment they needed, and even took home donated fishing poles to keep the fun going outside of the program.
