Conscious Discipline Family Night Kick Off on Nov. 13, welcomed 32 parents, grandparents, teachers, paraprofessionals, childcare workers, and other caregivers to learn the foundations of Conscious Discipline. Throughout the night we explored the power of connection and relationships through the adult-first program. This exploration helps us understand how our brains unconsciously change when reacting to situations and how as adults we can be conscious of this and help the children in our care learn self-control and self-regulation. If you want to learn more, our next Conscious Discipline Family Night is Feb. 15. Includes dinner and childcare!

Rose Moldenhauer is a morning MACer who has become the OHA Kitchen Kid! Rose helps Sandy Darst (pictured) with putting out the food choice signs, opening milk coolers, erasing the dry-erase board, rolling out the carts, and more to get ready for breakfast. Thank you to both!

Katy Smith, 2011 teacher of the year, presented an excellent message Monday night, "What Kids Need from Parents and Other Grown-ups". She talked about what adults can provide for children as life has changed in the last 5 years.
